Silver Addy Award for GM Performance Division
MAUMEE, Ohio, U.S.A., September 4, 2007 – Thread Information Design (Thread) was
recently presented the Silver Addy® Award for its redesign of the General Motors
Performance Division Website (GMPD). Thread received the award from the Advertising
Club of Toledo, Ohio – Northwest Ohio Region. As a result, GMPD's website was automatically
submitted for consideration in the American Advertising Federation's (AAF) national
competition. The winners are to be announced at the AAF's National Conference June
79 in Louisville, Ky.
The ADDY® Awards recognize the best in all categories of advertising, marketing and
communications, as well as creative from all types and sizes of agencies, institutions
and individuals. Showcasing more than 70 categories of advertising, the ADDY program is
unique among all advertising competitions in that it is comprised of three rigorous levels
of judging beginning at the local club level, moving on to regional competitions and
ultimately advancing to the national/international finals. With more than 57,000 entries
annually, the ADDY Awards continue to demonstrate creative excellence from a wide range of
advertisers and agencies.
Thread's website initiative for GMPD addressed the identification, process development,
integration and long term support for the division's web based marketing strategy. The
redesign provided the GMPD team with the ability to implement updates and support features.
The reconfigured GMPD website is internet based, and contains a divisional identifier and
marketing device, product and service information, functional and support tools, as well
as an Ecommerce application.
Joe Sharp, CEO of Thread, was the account supervisor on the project. He was accompanied by
Judy McFarland, President of Thread, who acted as account strategist for the GMPD redesign.
"We are proud of our alliance with General Motors," Sharp said. "Our years
of experience in the automotive industry helped us deliver a website that reflected the
dynamism of the GMPD division."
